Are
you sick of having to format your computer, or take it to a shop
every time you visit a web site or download a file because it’s
infected with a virus or Spyware? I have an answer for you. It’s not
a perfect answer but it’s an answer just the same. Some of you may
have heard of the pre-installation environment for windows Xp and
some of you have not. Bart P.E. (Bart’s Pre-installation
Environment) was written by Bart Lagerweij, a 36 year old programmer
from a small town called "Kootwijkerbroek" (The Netherlands,
Europe). Bart’s PE is a windows based operating system built and
burned to a CD or DVD. The system works a lot like windows but
cannot be corrupted by Viruses and or spyware, because it is on read
only media. I know what you’re thinking that’s genius and it is but
you need to know the cons to this system. One you have to use his
builder to create the P.E. with the programs and functions you need
to run and this is not an easy task. If you are curious about Bart’s
builder, you can get it
HERE. This system was really designed to fix
problems inside of windows but you can build and even download
plug-ins that will do pretty much anything you can do in windows
from a hard drive install, if you can find the plug-ins. I created a
Bart’s disk and use it to fix customers pc's that have been infected
with viruses because the Bart disk is 100% immune to all forms of
viruses, and malware. Now remember you can only use the programs
that you install the plug-ins for. So adding a program after you
have created the program is not possible you have to go bake and add
the plug-in then rebuild the P.E.
I have
also heard a rumor that a pretty smart programmer has figured out a
way to make windows embedded work kinda like Bart's PE disk but with
this new distribution you will be able to save files and install
programs to a drive but the system files for the Os are still on
read only media. I don't know quite how this will work yet but I'm
sure it's coming or may already be here. Be watching for future tech
articles on this subject.
I Hope This Helps!
